Plain English, no small print. Here is exactly what this website collects, why, and what you can do about it.

LRC Innovation is a UK based software and IT company, and we are the data controller for this website. If you have any question about this policy, or want us to delete something we hold about you, email miles@lrc-innovation.com and a person will reply.
If you send us an enquiry we collect the name, email address, company name (if you give one) and the message you wrote. We also record the time you sent it and the IP address it came from, which helps us deal with spam and abuse.
We use this only to read and reply to your enquiry, and to keep a record of a conversation you started. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you contacted us asking for a reply, and responding to you is the whole point. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we will not contact you about anything other than your enquiry unless you ask us to.
Enquiries are stored on our own server, in a location that cannot be reached from the web, and we read them there. Your message is not forwarded on to any other service. We keep enquiries for up to 24 months so we can pick up an old conversation, then delete them. Ask us sooner and we will delete yours straight away.
We keep a simple count of which pages get visited, so we know what is useful and what is not. This is done on our own server. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising network, and nothing that follows you to other websites.
For each page view we record:
That short code is not stored on your device and is not stored on ours either. It is recalculated from your IP address and browser using a secret that changes every day, so it cannot be reversed to find your IP address, and the same visitor returning tomorrow is a completely new, unlinked code to us. In practice that means we can see that somebody read three pages this morning, but not who, and not that it was the same person who visited last week.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — understanding whether our own website works. Because the data is anonymised in the way described above, and because it never leaves our server or reaches a third party, we consider the impact on your privacy to be minimal.
This website sets no cookies. Not for analytics, not for advertising, not for anything else. That is why you will not see a cookie consent banner: there is nothing to consent to. Browsing this site, and sending us a message through the contact form, leaves nothing whatsoever on your device.
The single exception is our own staff signing into the private admin area of this site, which sets one login cookie for the person signing in. It is never issued to visitors, and it is not used to track anyone.
Nobody, with one unavoidable exception: the company that hosts this website, on whose server your enquiry is stored. They act on our instructions only. Your enquiry is not passed to any analytics service, advertising network or mailing platform. We do not sell data, and we do not share it for marketing.
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can also object to our use of legitimate interests as a basis. Just email miles@lrc-innovation.com and we will sort it out — there is no form to fill in and no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
If we change how the site handles data, we will change this page and update the date at the top of it.
